How Might Career Coaching Benefit You?

How Might Career Coaching Benefit You?

Fact: The average person spends 1/3 of their life at work. Additionally, surveys indicate that less than half of the workforce is actually satisfied with their career. I believe firmly that the joy derived from a place where so much time is invested should yield joy outside of just a paycheck. In Career Coaching, the goal is to help clients maximize fulfillment in the workplace.

There are a number of reasons why one might not be happy at work. Some people feel like they’re stuck in a dead-end job. They may have reached a level of mastery in their current role and may want to seek advancement opportunities. They may even want to port their transferrable skills into a new role altogether. It’s also possible that they face certain challenges that complicate their ability to carry out their tasks (e.g. less than ideal working conditions, poor leadership, or difficult coworkers). Coaching could help sort out how to navigate these challenges.

Some people may be looking to transition out of the workplace. We’ve reached a point where a lot of baby boomers are facing retirement. They might feel the career that they’ve committed so much of themselves to for so long is all they know. They may not know what’s next for them. Coaching could be a benefit as it could help them discover or re-discover their passions, giving them perspective on what their new normal could look like.

There are also people that have grown tired of working for someone else. They might question how they could use the value that they’ve added to their employer to be their own boss. The transition from employee to entrepreneur can be beautiful but intimidating. At the surface, it may appeal to them, but they need to be coached through the execution.

If any of these resonate with you and you’d like assistance, you would likely benefit from Career Coaching.
